Welcome to The Learning Addict
I have to start by saying that this was no easy task. In fact, just starting it was ridiculously hard. The scope of the project was so intimidating that it took a while just to take the first step.
The technical side of the site was really challenging and was a constant test of my patience. Needless to say, it’s good to have that part out of the way and I’m glad you didn’t have to experience any of it!
First things first, I didn’t do this alone. Following through with this project wouldn’t have been possible without the help of some very notable authors, podcasters, and motivational speakers.
I have to give credit where credit is due so I posted podcast links at the bottom of the page so you can access these incredible people too. I highly recommend listening to them on your commute.
Reasons for starting this blog
Reason 1- I am pretty much obsessed with learning lessons from authors, motivational speakers, and successful entrepreneurs. It’s so extreme that it could be classified as a full blown addiction. I know I can’t be the only one with this “problem.”
Reason 2- The blog acts as a notebook of sorts to keep track of all the things I am learning. Writing is also a great way to remember things.
Reason 3- I wanted a way for readers and myself to share ideas, opinions, and experiences with each other. To make this possible a Community Forum and Live Activity Chat have been created. If you aren’t into those options there’s always traditional post commenting.
Reason 4- The blog will also be used to document all the different businesses I am starting and am currently involved with.
My favorite ways to learn
The ways I like to get my learning fix are through books, podcasts and, more recently, audiobooks and conferences.
-Here I am pictured with one of my favorite authors and podcasters, James Altucher, at the Fincon Masters event in New York City.
If you haven’t been to a conference before, I highly recommend you take the leap. I like to search the Eventbright app to search for upcoming events in my area. My only regret is not going to these earlier!
Five lucky subscribers win a free book every month. As long as you are an active subscriber, you will always be entered to win. You have the choice of receiving a hardcopy, ibook, kindle or audiobook version of your book. Your book title will be selected based on your current goals and challenges.
Participation Rules and Winner Protocol
1. You have to be an active subscriber to be included in the drawing each month.
2. Winners please reply to the winning email stating what your goal(s) and challenges are right now and what you are hoping to gain from your new book. This helps us in selecting a title.
4. There is a 5 day limit for winners to respond to the winning email before the offer expires. The time limit applies to the date on the winning email. Please include information needed to satisfy rules 2 and 3 before so we can get your book sent out.
5. When you receive your free book please consider taking a selfie with it. If you choose an ebook or audiobook version of the book you can take a selfie with your tablet or device. The photo(s) will be posted on TLA and its social media accounts to celebrate winners. If you are feeling extra generous consider sending a video capturing your excitement. Whatever you can do is greatly appreciated. Please send all media to via email or through TLA’s Facebook page.
Bonus– If you find any spelling errors (not grammatical errors) in any blog posts, send them over in a contact form and you will be entered to win a second time that month. Users cannot be entered more than twice per drawing.
Just to reiterate, if you are an active subscriber on our list you are automatically entered to win a free book each month. I will announce the winners on the first of each month.
The drawing countdown is always on the sidebar of the site or toward the bottom of the page if you are viewing this on mobile.
Subscribers will receive email updates when a new post goes live along with a few added bonuses.
The Learning Addict (TLA) is 100% Spam Free, always.
Spam sucks and we know it!
Note- There will be an audio version of content with additional commentary included at the top of each post.
If you got this far I would like to thank you and personally welcome you to the learning addict. It’s a work in progress!
